Matthew Mungle is a Special Make-up Effects Master who has created so many memorable images that it is hard to just pick out a couple. He created the old age make-up for James Woods in "Ghosts of Mississippi," and Sissy Spacek's and Christoper Walken's aging make-ups in the movie "Blast from the Past." He designed and sculpted the evil Chidin make-up Jamie applied for Ron Howard's "The Missing." Matthew also applied Johnny Depp's make-up with Ve Neill for Tim Burton's "Edward Scissorhands." Matthew Mungle applied and painted the Greg Cannom prosthetics that transformed actor Gary Oldman into the many different vampiric incarnations for "Bram Stoker's Dracula," for which he won a very much deserved Oscar! Jamie considers Matthew Mungle his mentor. When Jamie first moved to L.A., Matthew was the one who gave Jamie a start in the make-up labs and a chance to show what kind of artist he is. Matthew guided him and taught him the finer aspects of mold making, design, application of prosthetics and painting with make-up, as well as the all important mantra of how to improvise on short notice when a director changes his mind and throws something at you that you aren't quite prepared for... you make it work!
